WHAT RECORD?
Brabender yesterday said that the commercial does not specifically mention the word Bonusgate and refers instead to Corbett's overall record on fighting corruption.
"When we're talking about corruption we're basically talking about the sheer magnitude of it," said Brabender, adding that the campaign will not mention Bonusgate or use any images from related press conferences or court hearings in that investigation. (Philadelphia Daily News, 9/1/10)
Okay, Team Corbett; if you're not talking about onusgate-bay (wink, wink), what public corruption are you claiming to have fought? (And tsk, tsk, Chris Brennan, for not asking)
What public officials have you indicted outside of onusgate-bay?? (And don't try to claim credit for Jeff Habay; Jerry Pappert indicted him before you even took office. You prosecuted the case and failed to convict on half of it.)
Did you indict York County D.A. Stan Rebert, accused of abusing his office for personal and political gain? You did not.
Did you indict Bedford County D.A. Bill Higgins, accused of raping an intoxicated woman in his office? You did not.
Did you indict McKean County Commissioner candidate Al Pingie, accused of campaign finance reporting irregularities? You did not.
Did you indict state Rep. Mauree Gingrich, accused of forging signatures on her ballot petitions? You did not.
Did you indict Crawford County Treasurer Fred Wagner, accused of using his office to campaign? You did not.
Did you indict former state Rep. Eugene McGill, accused of personally profiting from a non-profit he founded that received state funds? You did not.
Even within the Bonusgate milieu, did you indict State Senator Jane Orie, accused of using taxpayer resources to campaign - even after her intern tried to give you the goods on her? You did not.
Did you indict Bill DeWeese in connection with bonuses, "LCOMM" or directing caucus staff to work on campaigns other than his own? You did not.
Of course, the real problem is not that you failed to indict them, but that you didn't recuse yourself from the investigations (when you bothered to "investigate"). You know, like you howled your primary opponent Bruce Castor should have done.
Did Brabender's weasely defense of Corbett's broken promise remind anyone else of a kid brother in the back seat of a car, chanting "I'm not touching you! I'm not touching you!" while waving his fingers a half-millimeter away from your face?
Are we reduced to treating campaign promises like a game of "Simon Says?"
Well, quite obviously, the public corruption that Tom Corbett fought was the forgery and perjury on Mauree Gingrich's nominating petitions.......oh.......wait.........nevermind. I must have confused Mauree Gingrich with Linda Bebko-Jones.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who you are...but I'm STUNNED that this stuff isn't making headlines across the state.
ReplyDeleteClearly Corbett is willing to ignore crimes of any magnitude if he believes doing so can benefit or further his self serving political ambitions. He serves himself, not the citizens of the Commonwealth. This will not change if he gets elected Governor, it will just increase exponetially. The Feds had no difficulty investigating Blagojovich, why not Corbett. The extent of his corruption if far more reaching.
ReplyDeleteATTENTION ONORATO CAMP.....!!
ReplyDeleteCorbetts' first TV add, is NAUSIATING!!! No, he didn't say 'bonusgate', he just heavily insinuated the word!! Kudos to whoever 'wrote' and produced that hypocritical add, you did well!!
Let's see who do you 'think' (wink, wink) the add refers to with the guys blowing cigar smoke??
NOW...ONORATO CAMPAIGN PEOPLE....
you MUST jump on this bull-crap this pityful candidate is trying to do!!
FIGHT BACK...LET'S GO!
I am VOTING ONORATO, because he's the best candidate for gov, & I GET that Corbett is CORRUPT, BUT
the ONORATO CAMPAIGN MGR, MUST COMMUNICATE CORBETTS HYPOCRACY to the general public and VOTERS...
they are nieve enough to buy into this moron and his campaign!!
ONORATO CAMPAIGN PLZ!!!, point out all those he has NOT INDITED, how he has, as PA-AG 'SELECTIVELY PROSECUTES' THOSE HE WANTS TO INDITE AND PROSECUTE!!
If they (citezens/voters) are NOT TOLD they will actually BELIEVE what the media says and writes...
Look deeper, Corbett MUST NOT become gov--or we are all in trouble!!
CAMPAIGN for ONORATO, vote ONORATO!
What happen to Mike Manzo Conviction sentence, he was supposed to be sentenced last December?
ReplyDeleteInstead, he is working as a Lobbyist under the approval of Tom Corbett.
How can this happen when the OAG said they would have him sentenced by December 2009, something is very wrong when a Convicted Felon that admitted he created Bonuses for campaigning can become Lobbyists and serve no time to date.
Can any newspaper reporter look into this and ask questions of the OAG and Corbett.
My guess is that Manzo won't be sentenced until after the election. Corbett doesn't want to have to explain why the "mastermind" got no jail time while his underling is serving a lengthy sentence.
ReplyDeleteSince so many people haVE ASSUMED THAT TOM CORBETT WILL WIN THE GOVERNORSHIP, SHOULDN'T WE ASK WHO HE WILL APPOINT AS HIS SUCCESSOR TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL POSITION? aSK HIM NOW, SO HE WON'T FORGET WHEN HE GETS THERE.
ReplyDeleteAbout Manzo...if I read this right... (doc # 4654cr2008) on 6/14/10 is says he will be sentenced in 120 days. That's 10/14/10 by my calculations. Do you really think the AG wants someone in an orange jumpsuit walking into court for Stetler/DeWeese trial (since their trying to merge them) as a convicted felon testifying against them? My "guess" is they will postpone Manzo's sentencing till all that is done with.
ReplyDeleteThoughts?
Now you know Mike Manzo can"t be in court in October, he is always out campaigning in October.
ReplyDeleteThe Record on Tom Corbett put up by CasablanaPA is very astounding regarding Corbett.
ReplyDeleteInstead of using his office for justice, he has propagandized it and his Corbett Campaign Commercials are full of his hucksterism for his own greed for ambitious power and personal arrogance on using injustice to advance his agenda.
Corbett is selling himself to the people hiding his small prosecutions of cheap or shoddy quality, as he engaged in haggling or making petty points to become elecetd Governor, Corbett is, a certain type of peddler or hawker, and it will catch up to him, once he is investigated by a true prosecuter.
Has anyone noticed that several NY Times reporters have made jaunts to Harrisburg? Do you think indictments would be coming out of a state where one of the targets worked in the Federal Prosecutors office. Think again. The Reporters may be from NY but the prosecutors are in DC. And that's the golly gee darn truth.
ReplyDeleteCorruption runs very deep. Certain folks seem concerned about Manzo. Yet, people like Hazelwood remain employed by the Caucus.
ReplyDelete"Corruption runs very deep. Certain folks seem concerned about Manzo. Yet, people like Hazelwood remain employed by the Caucus."
ReplyDeleteWhat, exactly, did Hazelwood do?
hazelwood is scum. everyone who works for him knows he is a sell-out for DeWeese and can't stand him. He lied, then lied again, and then lied about his lies... all for DeWeese...
ReplyDeleteBut I don't understand...if Keefer was not guilty of any crimes, then what did hazelwood have to lie about?
ReplyDeleteLook, Charlie Camp is still Tom Corbett’s Campaign Manager in Beaver County. Tom Corbett is on Public Record that under no circumstances can a Public Official use Public, State or County Time, Resources, and Equipment for Private Gain.
ReplyDeleteCorbett is on record that his Attorney General Office will investigate, follow the evidence, and prosecute any Public Official doing so on the Taxpayers Dime.
Charlie Camp has to announce he did not work on his Master Degree on County Time and did not use County Resources, Car, or Equipment, so far Charlie Camp has not done that, and since Charlie Camp has already stated he made mistake using Public Campaign Funds for his Private Education, an investigation on whether he did any of his Master Degree on Public County Time is required and mandatory according to Corbett’s own Prosecutors.
A private citizen is allow to file such a Private Complaint at the Attorney General Office and District Attorney Office, so Charlie Camp need to be investigated, on whether he illegally used Public County Time for Private gain.
This is what Tom Corbett is running on for Governor and Tom Corbett Campaign Manager is not above Tom Corbett Laws, or Is He, and is Tom Corbett giving Charlie a pass or are both doing a cover up?
Why has no one at BEAVER COUNTY TIMES asked these questions?
all you corbett haters better get used to the following: Governor Corbett. No one cares about your stupid crying over Veon, DeWeese, et.al
ReplyDeleteIt will be even better to watch Corbett in handcuffs IF he becomes gov. Then we can watch that bastard paraded in front of the cameras... so personaly, i hope he DOES win...
ReplyDeleteWhat about Eachus??????
