BACKPEDALING

In response to a rare question from a journalist about his failure to target a single Republican in his epic Bonusgate investigation, Gubernatorial Candidate Tom Corbett abandoned his usual "investigation is continuing" dodge:

Corbett, who has come under criticism for failing to prosecute Republicans while going after House Democrats in the so-called "Bonusgate Scandal," said he never promised to pursue members of his own party. "What I have vowed to do is complete the investigation," he said. "I'm not worrying about the issue of partisanship."

Maybe failure to prosecute Republicans is what Corbett meant when he said our consciences would be shocked. Maybe the estimated $10 million his investigation has cost the taxpayers is what he meant by the stunning amount of money involved.

Most of us at Team CasablancaPA believe Corbett never intended to charge a single Republican. We disagree whether public pressure will force his hand. What none of us can figure out, though, is how he got away with pretending charges were imminent a full year ago.

What happened to the next round of indictments being "shocking", and "it's because of the amount of money involved"?

You are right, the only thing shocking is the ridiculous manner in which this investigation has been conducted.

And speaking of the amount of money involved, the 4 legislative caucuses have released how much this investigation has cost them. Since the AG refuses to release how much his office has spent on this investigation, including the cost for several grand juries connected to this "ongoing investigation", when is someone going to file a request for this information, under the state's Right To Know Act? Or will Corbett think he is above that law, too?

File an Open Records request?? Maybe Gene Stilp will do that! Oh wait, he is too busy grandstanding about Fumo's sentence, hanging out at the Capitol with a bunch of Hoovers. Unless it looks like the media might care, Gene does nothing. The former House Democratic staffer is a fraud. Where is Russy "big shiny" Diamond?

Corbett is nothing but another politician looking to feather his own nest at the expense of the taxpayers.

Gene Stilp and Russ Diamond are private citizens who are working to improve our corrupt system. Your cheap shots add nothing to improving our government. Why don't you file an Open Records request? It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Todd Eachus is trying to contact them again, they help elect whistling Todd "Michele My Belle" tune to Majority Leader.

Now as the Budget bleeds so is Eachus's reputation for blood in his ranks.

THE VEON PAPERS
EXHIBIT F
Attachment 6
E-Mails showing TODD EACHUS organized and supervised the House Democratic Campaign Committee's efforts to place Rendell Cabinet secretaries in targeted districts for campaign purposes.
PAGE 4
FROM: DAN WIEDEMER
SENT: Tuesday, September 12, 2006 7:17 PM
TO: EACHUS, FRANKEL, VEON
Copies to: MANZO, COTT, WALL, EDWARDS
Subject: CAMPAIGN VISITS

Here, it is discussed how TODD EACHUS met with GOVERNOR RENDELL'S Secretary Crawford for Governor's Surrogates to be used in vulnerable Democratic districts; using SHARED ACCOMPLISHMENTS and COORDINATED POLLING all under SECRETARY CRAWFORD and REP. EACHUS'S direction.

It even shows how they pull in other legislators by calling them and telling them the Governor expressed an interest to do it, even though Eachus and the Governor actually wanted this kind of campaign activity.

Apparently, the Governor's surrogates willing to WORK on STATE TIME ON CAMPAIGNS
ARE: YABLONSKY, VITO, WRIGHT, JOHNSON, ZAHORCHAK, SCHMERIN, DOWD, and BEILER.

And the following and legislators would join in campaigning on state time with the above Governor's Surrogates:

DERMODY, FLAHERTY, GOODMAN, SIPTROIL, SANTONI, STURLA, GEORGE, MARKOSEK, HARHAI AND LEACH.

I WONDER, IS THIS THE SAME GOVERNOR RENDELL THAT TESTIFIED AS A CHARACTER WITNESS FOR CONVICTED FELON FORMER SENATOR VINCE FUMO?

The AG has the evidence right here to indict all that worked on campaigns on state time, he would be doing every Pennsylvanians favor, by taking out these Cabinet Secretaries and Rendell.

Governor Rendell's Cabinet are the ones that overspent the budget and removing them along with Rendell would cause the budget as soon as all of them are gone.

Frank LaGrotta is right about Rendell and Eachus and their Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania Connections to Hazelton, two of the most corrupt cities in Pennsylvania history.

LOOKS LIKE THE AG OFFICE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATING AND INDICTING MOST OF RENDELL's cabinet. We would get a quicker budget without them.

More indictments will just make a bigger mess that cannot resolve anything.

This investigation from the start is too broad in scope, and too ineffective in results, when the Legislature has already posted reforms, practice these reforms, and now big waiting game on the Budget and Investigations that is serving no one, especially the people.
