THORNBURGH PUNKED AGAIN

Partisan Republican Attorney General and GOP gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett has said over and over and over that he wants there to be no politics involved in his bonusgate investigation.

His tax-payer funded campaign manager, Brian Nutt, recently told Laura Vescey with the Patriot News as much, "As Tom said, [the bonusgate investigation] is very complex and his goal was to take the politics out of it." (Patriot News 9/15/09)

So, what does the Corbett campaign for governor do next?

They write an endorsement statement from former Republican Governor Dick Thornburgh that drags the bonusgate investigation directly into the campaign:

"Tom has earned my deepest respect for the manner in which has handled investigations into corruption in Pennsylvania...Tom Corbett has clearly demonstrated that he is conducting his investigations thoroughly and fairly."

It is kind of sad to think that Thornburgh has gotten so old and senile as to sign onto this statement that Corbett's staff (probably tax-payer funded flak Kevin Harley) gave him.

We say that Thornburgh must be losing his faculties because we're not sure how arresting 12 Democrats without making a single Republican arrest for over a year later can be any kind of a "demonstration" of a "thorough" and "fair" investigation.

Of course, Thornburgh is susceptible to being punked, so we shouldn't be surprised that he signed off on the laughable statement.

Beaver County was the target by Dick Thornburgh in the 1970's going after Sheriff Heinman.

Why?

Because it voted 90% Democratic in those days.

Today, Corbett carries on the tradition so Beaver County can become more Republican than ever today and tomorrow.

“A comatose people, an indoctrinated people, a people provide for only partisan information and opinion that confirm their own bias, a people made morbidly obese in mind and spirit by the junk food of propaganda, is less inclined to put up a fight, ask questions and be skeptical."-- Bill Moyers, 2005

The Republican Establishment is gearing up for Tom Corbett. With candidates like Corbett, the Democrats can slack off, too.

I do hope that Sam Rohrer decides to run. I think he would pull all the Toomey voters to him in the same May 2010 primary. Of course, Rohrer will never get Republican endorsement in January 2010 at State Committee which is all the more to his credit.

Poor Dick Thornburgh. loses to Harris Wofford and not swindled by Corbett. It is very sad to see a good man misdirected by supposed his colleagues.

Only one problem with the Bill Moyer Quote.

It was Bill Moyer along with Richard Goodwin that created the first Political Non-Issue Attack Ad as Campaign Managers for LBJ in the 1960's.

So much for Bill Moyers Two-Face!

If you had done something twice, you are likely to do it again. For every problem, there is one solution which is simple, neat, and wrong.

The Truth is ever to be found in the simplicity, and not in the multiplicity and confusion of things. If we have no idea why a statement is true, we can still prove it by induction.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

For Contradiction is not a sign of falsity, nor the lack of contradiction a sign of truth.

It is not certain that everything is uncertain.

The Defendants are gifted with the special capability of making many mistakes, mostly in the right direction.

Many envied them for this and tried to imitate them, but found it quite difficult to make good mistakes.

Therefore, if you think thes cases are simple, then you have misunderstood the problem.

As we know, it is often true, one thing we have hated is liars, and all states are full of them. It was not always the case; there was an age of general intelligence. We had a watchdog, the media but are too supine now.

The Republican Party is not a party when in fact it is a mindset, based on religious, racial and class hatred.

The Republicans will win the next election because there is little difference between the parties. The Supreme Court used to fix the selection, not elections.

Today religious mania has infected the political bloodstream and Pennsylvania has become corrosively the place where we live well but they are all alcoholics.

The Commonwealth has no intellectual class but is rotting away at a funereal pace. What we are condoning is having an Attorney General Justice Dictatorship, on the basis that nobody else can hold everything together.

We all would be better off focusing on educating the Keystone State people. Nevertheless, our problem is being over-educated.

We do not realize how dim-witted and ignorant our audience is and how Benjamin Franklin once said that, the system would fail because of the corruption of the people. Do not ever make the mistake thinking we are looking for heroes.

There are not any and if there were, they would be killed immediately. We are seldom surprised by bad behavior. This is a slight exaggeration after all dead man cannot grieve a dead man just looking at in a different way.

We need to fully round our vision of thorny contrarians whose originality springs simply, and naturally, from deliberate unfixed allegiances and an enduring belief in our Commonwealth sadness at how our ideals has been corrupted. How else can we protest against tyrannical government?

We must resist from becoming filthy low writers that prefer to attack our betters, which means we have a big field to go after. We all need to be more interested in the Constitution than the loving vulgar cute attacks on personalities.

We need to consider if we need to stop hating labels and scornful campy voices. Does anyone care what other Pennsylvanians actually think if they are the worst educated people in the Northeast?

When citizens do not have any thoughts, they have emotional responses, which good advertisers spin masters, and public relations professionals know how to provoke. We no longer have to believe in exclusive terms, nor do we?

Our minds are in impaired mobility but it does not bother anyone anymore. Just like we no longer need to dwell on mortality anymore and actually welcome it. Either you accept there is such a thing or you are so dumb that you cannot grasp it.

Yet, we all still trace our thwarted ambitions to be close to a friend near the throne. Even it means buying a Governors, Senate, and Congress seat and it is like winning the lucky lottery for job security.

We have spent so much getting our heroes elected we no longer live within our income.

After the elections and when we do achieve what we feel should be ours for the taking, we just sit there shame-faced or whistling or tap our teeth like a xylophone.

Therefore, what is the solution, we all got to work harder with heartily goals of common welfare for common citizens.

We cannot demand a Hollywood Life with a social whirl; we all want to be part of a fabulous impression complaining about playing a healthy person that shakes like a leper in the wind.

We all seek and what we are most proud of not becoming these days?

Well, given that that we have not killed anybody, we should be proud about saving something up for someone with smiles mischievously by remembering that we should Call no man happy till he is dead.

Therefore, let us be kind and forgiving to our political enemies and learn the lesson of Adams and Jefferson before their deaths.

Be kind to one another even in the red mists and black dog periods of pain during the hunt towards ambitions that become all remnants of glory washed away over time.

don't you remember your Republican history. DICK THORNBURGH went after all the big time Republicans. He prosecuted them all. He persecuted them all and all the time he was a bigger crook than them all. There aren't anymore Republicans out there to prosecute. Thornburgh got them all. and now he is behind Corbett to show him how to use the Attorney General's office to wipe out his enemies. Remember Bud Dauer. Remember how he fouyght him and what happened to and honest public official. And Thornburgh got his connections from in the Feds.

Wasn't Gerald LaValle connected to Sheriff Heinman. I think he is even related in to the Acons and they were all mixed up in the rackets.

Maybe someone should call Governor Thornburgh and asked him cause he knew all about that. That gang operated for years and made lots of m,oney and sheriff heinmen got the rap for it and ended up in jailed for 90 days.

There was lots of money to be made among those in power and they had a big numbers racket going that reached all the way up to Youngstown Ohio and went all the way down to McKees Rocks.

Understand, this was not just a Democratic thing. After all, former state senator Jack Good was a roommate of the governor in college and he was all involved in it, too. He of course was a Republican and went into the Senate after Ernie Kline was elected as Lieutenant Governor.

He was supported by the same group that ran all the (some of) the rackets. But then when the heat got too high, he had to bug out.

Bear in mind that all this was going on when the Pennsylvania Crime Task Force was compiling a report on organized crime in Pennsylvania. They had selective profiling back then so, why should we think that it would not be used now.

Many of those people have now departed and make book in the great numbers bank in the sky; but there are still many who could tell you tales of the neighborhoods in western PA and fond memories of macaroni with Tony and Rose and the days before the massage parlor blew up. Justice has a great many tales that could be sung in every little rivertown and I'm sure the gang has perfected its craft. Tell us more, governor. Youyr advice would be helpful in the campaign.

Hey Guzzardi, you have to realize Dick Thornburgh doesn't wear a halo. Then, again, none of his colleagues do either.

Someday there will be a statue of Dicky Thornburgh, but it will be built in hell.
